Getting Ready

It has been a while, and I am SORRY, but as you all understand December is CRAZY :) Aaron is now 28, Addalyn is now 5, we did Christmas with our work, small group, youth group, high school friends, and our families! It is finally January and we are 6 weeks away from going back to St Kitts. Tomorrow we have our first team meeting!! We can't wait!

On that note, we have one team member in particular that needs help with financial support. Chase Woods is a 15 year old student at Halls High School. He is an outstanding young man with a passion for God and serving others. I have always been impressed with his kindness towards others and his ability to draw them in to the group. On this trip to St Kitts, Chase (along with our team) will be picking up trash in parks, cleaning up yards, houses and churches, running a field day at a local elementary school and ministering at the prison. At the end of the week, we will be helping to run a giant festival with free food, games, musical performances, and the sharing of the gospel! PLEASE help this very deserving student to be able to come and make a difference in the lives of the people of St Kitts.

Y'all, it has been SIX months since I last wrote a blog post. I can't believe it has been so long. We have: started homeschooling Addalyn, said goodbye to good friends, traveled to the US for New Years and doctor visits, welcomed new people, had three family visits and a friend visit and two mission teams visit, watched church grow, taken on new roles, and welcomed back an old one. April Showers (Or the Beginning of Dry Season)

Recently I started reading through Revelation. It's the last book in my journey to read through the entire Bible. It MAY have taken a little more than a year lol. I'm not gonna lie, there were some books I was not excited to dive into (Leviticus? Numbers? Habakuk???). However, God has used each book in His precious word to speak to me in whatever season I have been walking through. I expected to learn a lot about Revelation, but not necessarily from Revelation. I had always viewed it as a way to understand what's coming, but maybe not what I'm dealing with now. But praise God for His LIVING word! It never fails to meet me where I am and speak life over me.  April was not much different than March. Phone calls, reaching out, being told "next week", "next month", waiting, waiting, waiting. We have FINALLY arrived!

We're here.  We are here. We are really for real here!  We are really, truly, amazingly, actually here! I have to keep reminding myself of this daily, hourly, sometimes minute to minute. One week in, and it still doesn't always feel real.  At our missions training in August we talked about the paradox that missionaries live with. How it's possible to feel two ways at once, think two ways at once, eventually to belong to two places at once. This had been the month of paradox. We spent November saying goodbye and soaking up as much East Tennessee love and memories as possible. We started the month by finding out that we will be getting a NIECE this march!!! Congratulations Adam and Katie and Eli!!! We are so excited for that precious girl to arrive! We also had early Christmas with my (Katelyn's) family so that we could celebrate all together.
