From the Mouth of Babes

"Mom, where do you think I am? Chaos?" I was surprised, and a bit confused by my daughter's question, but as we snuggled in her bed she continued, "Was it unsettling, then chaos, settling?" she asked. It finally dawned on me that my nine year old was remembering a lesson from our month at MTI, missions training we attended previous to our move to St Kitts, over two years ago!

As we discussed the "transition bridge" I realized that transitioning to school had been a bigger deal for her than I had thought. Of course she would have to work through the process! Of course navigating friendships, class work, playground drama, and school projects would cause some chaotic feelings! And I am so grateful that she was given the tools to talk about it and work through it.

Looking back over September, it was a time of major transition for all four of us. While I'm not sure exactly where we are on the bridge, it is such a sweet reminder that feeling "chaotic" is a normal part of the journey. Here's to praying that we reach that lovely "new settled" place very soon!

With the Flemmings, our wonderful friends and volunteer youth group leaders, out of the country to have their baby boy (hopefully today!), Aaron, Brandon, and I have taken over leading and hosting youth group every Friday night. This small group of teenagers has been so much fun! As we walk them through studying Philippians, they are slowly opening up and asking good questions and sharing their lives with us piece by piece.

Aaron's cousins came to see us for a day whole their cruise was ported here! Mary and Denis have been down to St Kitts three times since we've lived here, and each time they have brought us goodies and Bibles, and loved on us during their time at port.

We went to their favorite stop, Shipwreck, for lunch and we got to see monkeys. Usually they are in a particular area eating food, but this time they were playing on the cars!

Our church launched a new Wednesday night gathering to study foundations of Christianity. The group coming started big and keeps growing! Seeing how many young or new believers we have at CCF encourages us to do whatever we can to invest in them and help them grow.

St Kitts Celebrated it's 35th Independence Day! So we helped throw a dinner get together with our church family the night before.

We got to watch the big parade on TV!

The following Sunday was our church's beach service. What an awesome perk of living on a tiny island! The best part is that we get to do baptisms and celebrate new life with our people.

A mission team from Philadelphia Church in Seattle, Washington came down at the end of the month. They were such a blessing, and in addition to helping out at local schools and with the Graysons' needs, they also shared their testimonies at CR, in the prison, at youth group, and at New Horizons. We really enjoyed getting to know this sweet group and to see their passion for the Lord and for sharing the good news that we all have!

Thank you for reading, following what God is doing here, and being a part of our ministry through prayer and giving!

*We are currently raising support to go towards buying a mini van so we can offer more rides to more people for church, Celebrate Recovery, and other ministry events! The van will cost $7,000 and be available for purchase in the summer.
